Termination of League Membership and Cease and Desist Notification
Date: April 14, 2025
To: Ownership and Management, Alabama Beavers
Subject: Termination of League Membership and Cease and Desist Notification
Dear Alabama Beavers Ownership and Management,
This letter serves as official notice that effective immediately, the Alabama Beavers franchise is hereby terminated from the International Football Alliance (IFA). This decision was reached after a thorough internal review and factual findings made by the IFA staff and compliance officer over the past week; and is based on multiple violations of league standards, policies, and the professional code of conduct expected of all IFA member organizations.
Grounds for Termination:
The following misconduct and breaches of trust have been documented and verified:
Fraudulent Financial Activity:
-
Mr. Drinkard accepted a $25,000 investment via cashier's check from Mr. Anthony Richardson under the pretense he was investing in the Alabama Beavers Ownership in which said funds were to be applied solely toward league entry fees.
On January 4, 2024, Mr. Drinkard presented Mr. Richardson with a fraudulent PayPal statement showing he paid the league on a line item payout under the fictional name of “International Alliance”. This is a felony act transaction. This item and document are fraudulent and the league never received this payment as Mr. Richardson is aware. Mr. Richardson has provided all documentation to our league officers and ownership group for verification, which has been fact-checked and verified. The lFA league and Mr. Richardson will now take legal action in these findings against Mr. Drinkard in the State of Alabama.
-
When questioned about the payment, Charles "CJ" Drinkard stated to league staff on a phone call that funds were returned to the investor, when in fact they were not. Providing the league with a false statement on the character of the investor in question. Referring to the funds as "dirty money" and claiming they were returned. In truth, Charles "CJ" Drinkard cashed the cashier's check and kept the money for personal use and gain. Mr. Drinkard has not called, or texted, Mr. Richadson since this accepting this cashier's check and only showed Mr. Richardson a fraudulent paid the league line item.
Misrepresentation and Deceit:
-
Providing false statements to IFA league staff and local businesses on multiple occasions regarding payment of expenses, including but not limited to:
-
During the team’s mini-camp operations, hotel accommodations and food services were secured through Embassy Suites. While an initial deposit of $500.00 was received, no further payments were made toward the total owed. As confirmed by the Director of Sales and Marketing for Embassy Suites Huntsville, in a full email chain received by IFA for verification of your actions between said parties. The remaining balance, $22,731.72, remains outstanding. A payment schedule was arraigned, but a further lack of action has proven there’s no solution or follow-up with payments made. The following payment dates have already passed and no payment was made:
-
March 7 -$5682.93
-
March 28 -$5682.93
-
April 4 - $5682.93
-
-
This failure to fulfill the financial obligation constitutes a direct breach of contract with Embassy Suites, which is owned and operated by Atrium Hospitality. As a result of this breach, Atrium Hospitality has barred the International Football Alliance (IFA) from using any of its properties for current or future team operations. This action has had a material and reputational impact on the International Football Alliance, disrupting current team activities and limiting accommodation options for future events.
-
-
Unpaid invoices for footballs from league supplier Big Game Football, despite repeated claims that invoice #226887 will be paid (still open as of this letter) which was due on 10/5/2024 totaling: $2329.80
-
Draft day deposit(s) to the Westin in Huntsville, AL for facility rental and audio-visual fees. A deposit was claimed to have been paid but later was confirmed unpaid by the Complex Director of Sales & Marketing staff. The Alabama Beavers, Charles "CJ" Drinkard now owes $51,980.00 to this establishment for cancelation and breach of contract. Mr. Drinkard stated to the IFA that he needed to move venues last minute due to audio-visual package issues. Again, the Westin confirmed they were not made aware of any issues and Mr. Drinkard canceled at the last minute.
-
Alabama Beavers stadium agreement with Huntsville FC operations. According to the stadium contract with the Alabama Beavers, the team would be charged $8,000 per game for facility rental. An initial deposit of $2,000 was paid in cash, which was made and noted by facility management it is out of the ordinary for a cash payment which he had to go deposit. The IFA has been advised by stadium operations staff that they will give the IFA an opportunity until 5 pm CST Monday 4/14/25 to respond to the remaining $4,000. This will release the dates from any future IFA games at Wicks Family Field. Keeping the IFA in good standing if we, the IFA, choose to use the field for future events. Noting to the IFA Staff, they want to open the stadium dates back up to the public for rental use due to issues with the Alabama Beavers organization that has presented itself.
-
The stadium operations have allowed the Alabama Beavers to use the facility multiple times with the understanding the contract would be fulfilled. This effect has cost thousands of dollars in stadium usage.
-
-
-
Charging players a $60.00 / $75.00 Background Check Fee with no verified background checks conducted. No data, findings, or federal/state-processed results were provided to the players or the league for verification. No certified third-party service was used to complete these checks and no findings have been presented to the players or the league Director of Player Personnel to review the accuracy of said findings.
Unfulfilled Financial Obligations:
-
Failing to reimburse players who paid out-of-pocket for team-related hotel accommodations. Players reported paying the Alabama Beavers directly for hotel reservations at Embassy Suites, only to be required to pay again upon check-in at the hotel. The GM of the hotel confirmed no payments were ever received in advance. Despite promises of reimbursement from Charles "CJ" Drinkard, no refunds have been issued as of this letter to any players affected. Both the players and the hotel have provided statements and have shared all correspondence of this fraudulent/ misleading/ deceitful action.
-
Collecting funds from players and fans for a “Jersey Flash Sale” without delivering the products or providing refunds. These purchases have been confirmed by affected players, families, and fans who partook in the jersey sale. Mr. Drinkard met the numerous complaints by shifting blame to third parties and/or a lack of proper communication. Mr. Drinkard stated the jerseys had to be shipped back to add logos, or sponsorships logos were some of the excuses used to hide the fraudulent/ misleading/ deceitful action. No refunds have been reimbursed and players and families have notified the league of multiple attempts to recoup said monies and still you have not fulfilled any commitment nor refund, but instead have stopped responding to emails, texts, and calls.
Sponsorship Misconduct:
-
Sold sponsorships and jersey branding placements without fulfilling deliverables.
-
Misrepresented sponsor refunds and falsely characterized a business owner to league officials.
-
Selling branded logo placement on jerseys without delivering on the agreed sponsorship. Verified through contracts and payment records made to the Alabama Beavers.
-
Misleading the league with false statements regarding the return of sponsor funds and providing inaccurate characterizations of a business owner.
Failure to Meet and Uphold League Ethical Requirements:
-
Failure to pay league invoices for services and entry fees.
-
Failure to uphold the professional standards required of IFA member organizations.
-
Providing false information to league staff and other team members for personal gain at the expense of players, league services, and potential sponsors.
-
Misleading the City of Huntsville, AL businesses with multiple ways of deceit, including different forms of promised payment for services, redirection when asked for payment from said businesses stated in the letter, and lack of fulfillment of said funds.
-
Failure to pay team invoices to the business located in Huntsville. AL in a professional and timely manner for services already rendered to the Alabama Beavers or you personally on behalf of the Alabama Beavers.
-
Misleading with half-truths, coverups, and blatant lies is unbecoming of ownership of an IFA team to IFA staff, other IFA ownership, and players in and under the Alabama Bevaers organization.
-
Deceiving the league in the guise of operating ethically.
Cease and Desist Order:
